Randy and his team at R. Tews Construction & Design, Inc., made our dream a reality. Randy was able to translate the ideas we had in our minds onto a blueprint. Then, through careful planning and attention to detail, bring the design to fruition with the actual construction. We now have a beautiful home with a very functional design.

Once we signed on with Randy, he did a good job of communicating what the timeline for the project would be. He let us know up front what his deliverables would be and when we would have to have our decisions made to make sure the project kept moving on time. He was always available via telephone and frequented the job site regularly. He communicated with our on-site foreman daily and made sure the subcontractors knew when they would need to be present.

The guys who work directly for Randy are great. There is at least one point person who works with you through the entire job. Even when our person was ill for several days there was someone there who was able to jump right in and carry through so the project did not fall behind. Other appropriate people were called in when needed depending on what the tasks were for that day. Everyone worked very had on our project and tried to be as unobtrusive as possible, keeping disruptions to our home and routine to a minimum.

The subcontractors Randy uses have great respect for him. They were always available to come right away when needed. I am sure this is due some part to Randy’s foresight and planning, but on the other hand they know that if Randy says he needs them, he really does and everything is going to be ready for them when they get there so they can get their job done.

Our job site was cleaned up every evening. While working, the crews laid down rubber mats, placed plastic over the furnishings, and took great care when they had to move our belongings. They also encouraged the subcontractors to do the same. As equipment was not longer needed, it was moved off-site, this included the trailers that were used to store their equipment.

Randy has a keen sense of detail and inspects the site regularly and will have things redone if not to his standards. His finishing touches really made the difference on our project and everyone comments on them, “Look at the trim, woodwork, entryway, doors…”

We are pleased with our end result and are enjoying our new living space. We would recommend R. Tews Construction & Design, Inc. to others looking to remodel, build an addition or a brand new home. He is more expensive, but once you sign on, you will have minimal worries about getting a beautiful finished result. Just sit back and be amazed at the wonderful results as you come home each evening.

During the winter of 2005 we experienced almost total destruction of our lake home due to a broken water pipe. I contacted R. Tews Construction and asked for some help and guidance in dealing with all of the issues that I knew we would face in the coming months trying to rebuild our home. Not only were they able to help in the process of design and rebuilding, but they were invaluable in helping us to deal with the insurance company as well. When we had questions about materials or design possibilities they always had helpful suggestions or directions to speed the process along. There were so many things that we hadn’t even considered such as the health problems that might be encountered with mold growth following the severe flooding we experienced, but R. Tews had already considered the options and was ready with the answers we needed. The experience and professionalism they brought to this project were greatly appreciated. Now we have a lake home that we are excited to show off to everyone, constructed with the highest quality materials, and with a pride of workmanship which is obvious to all who see it.

Our family decided to finish our basement.  We hired R. Tews Construction & Design for the job, not only because a friend did refer us, but because we were comfortable with Randy Tews and confident in his expertise and experience.

We are very pleased with our new recreational basement.  It was finished in the time frame we gave R. Tews and the quality is terrific!   Also, we know that R. Tews stands behind their work and would attend to any problems until the client is satisfied with the project.

We began working with R. Tews Construction & Design in April 2003. My husband and I were interested in adding onto our 1 story house, so that it better fit our five person family. What impressed us up front was the promptness in which our calls were returned from Randy Tews. After our first meeting with Randy, it was pretty clear to us that he had been in this business a long time, knew how to remodel an older house such as ours, and cared about quality. We thought the design that was presented to us was excellent and fit all of the needs of our young family. The toughest part was definitely waiting for the schedule to open up, so construction could begin on the addition we decided on.

Construction began on our addition in November 2003 and continued approximately through March 2004. During that time period there were very few days when someone was not at our house working. We thought the scheduling of the various sub-contractors was excellent as the work flowed well, and we were never waiting for someone such as the electrician or plumber to come. The crews from R. Tews Construction & Design were always polite, professional, and informative. Any of our concerns during the construction phase were addressed promptly, and Randy Tews continued to remain as assessable as he was during the design phase of our project. The overall concern for quality that we saw during the design phase also remained as we progressed through the 5-month project.

We're very happy with our decision to add on to our house. We love the looks of our remodeled house and all of the extra space and rooms we now have. There seems to be plenty of horror stories out there about "bad" contractors. I always tell people that we were one of the lucky ones. I don't think we could have found a company better than R. Tews Constructions & Design and we would highly recommend them to anyone considering a remodeling project.

September 24, 2004

Looking to remodel or add on to your current home? Our family would like to recommend R. Tews Construction & Design for your next project. Our family was looking to add more living space to our current house and in the Spring of 2004 we sat down with Randy Tews who provided us with many options regarding the addition as well as cost of the addition. He was attentive and listened to our needs and designed our addition specific to our lifestyle.

We have added approximately 1,000 square feet to our home and everyone who comes in to see our home now comments on how seamless the addition is to the existing home. Our house looks like it was originally build with our current design and does not look at all like an addition was put on. Randy is very particular about the craftsmanship and quality of the work of his crew. Randy was onsite many times during the construction phase and on several occasions, provided input and suggestions to ensure that our end product met his high expectations. He or his crew communicated with us during the entire project and asked our input at different phases of the construction to ensure that the addition met our individual expectations and needs. The crew was also very cognizant of the fact that we continued to live in our home during the construction of the addition and took measures to ensure that our current living arrangements went uninterrupted as much as possible.

We would highly recommend R. Tews Construction & Design for your next project. We couldn't be happier with the quality of our project and the professionalism and courtesy that the crew at R. Tews Construction offered to our family during the construction of our addition.
